We test our monitors to ensure they have a high contrast ratio which allows you to see crisp, detailed images.  In addition, we use low voltage, externally powered monitors whenever possible. When we run our wiring kits through the mounting arm, it is important that they are low voltage.  One reason is if by chance the wires should touch one another through repeated use (twisting and turning), the person may receive a slight shock from 12 volt low voltage wiring vs. a 110 volt shock from a high voltage monitor.  A 110 volt shock could knock someone clear across the room and possibly stop their heart.
